We the Mortals is a modern-style book salon for seekers who enjoy literary richness and reflective conversation, to shape what it means to be human. Above all, it’s a catalyst for connection where curious minds gather to explore ideas, literature, and life.
We linger with books long after the last page is turned. Beyond entertainment, the stories we read become reflective conversations about life, society and the self. With a philosophical way of reading—curious, reflective, and open to wander and wonder —every book opens doors into questions that shape our human being.
We meet not to summarize plots, dress as characters or rush through pages, but to find pleasure in exploring books as living labyrinths that connect us across time and cultures; we approach books as literary, philosophical and transformative encounters.
This space is for you if reading is a way to enter dialogue: with the author, with others, and with yourself.
One book per month
Chosen for its literary and philosophical richness.
Intimate community
Limited to a small group, so dialogue is enriched by all.
Guided sessions
Grounded on themes such as love, freedom, etc.
Reflective practices
Enriched with journaling prompts (optional), reflective methods, and occasional cross-disciplinary pairings (philosophy, psychology, art).
* We engage with books in their entirety, including themes that may be uncomfortable or unsettling.
Why We the Mortals Gather
To read slowly and savor every page.
To engage in thoughtful conversations with kindred spirits.
To discover how literature can illuminate our worldview.
To experience a book not just as text, but as a mirror of the humans we are being.
